Colin Farrell is an Irish actor who gained much fame in the early 2000’s. This sudden peak of his career of 27 movies so far probably started in 2002, with his first significant Hollywood movie, “Heart’s War.” In this film, he was the co-star of Bruce Willis, as an American officer in a German prison compound in World War II. This role was followed by a wave of Farrell-movies, such as “Minority Report,” “S.W.A.T.,” “The Recruit,” and “Daredevil.” He played along with no smaller names than Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, and Ben Affleck. After playing the leading role in “Alexander,” a movie based on life of the Greek military commander, in 2004, he vanished for some time.
Although many of his critics ponder whether Farrell has real talent, or simply very influential benefactors, he undoubtedly played in many high-budget action movies, and quickly became very popular, especially among female audiences.
Colin Farrell is planning to return to the movie screen in the role of Sonny Crockett in the movie version of “Miami Vice,” which is to be released in August 2006.
