Keira Knightley is a British actress. She is known for the lot of films she played in recently, despite her young age.
Keira Knightley was born in 1985 in Great Britain as a daughter of actors. She started acting in TV films while attending elementary school. Her first role was in Royal Ceremony at the age of seven, in 1993. She appeared in more TV films afterwards, and made a brief appearance as one of princess Amidala’s decoys in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Her first lead role was also in a TV production, Princess of Thieves by Walt Disney Studios in 2001.
Keira Knightley’s first success on the movie screen was Bend It Like Beckham (2002), a sports comedy. In the following years, Knightley starred in many box office hits such as the adventure movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) along with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, the romantic comedy Love Actually (2003), King Arthur (2004) and, most recently, the movie version of Pride and Prejudice (2005).
Keira Knightley is currently working on the sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean, which is due to be released in 2006. She also has plans for a third episode of the series, and Silk, a romance movie in 2007.
