Paris Hilton is a “celebrity” of the 2000’s. She is a model, singer, and actress, but most of all, heiress to Baronn Hilton, owner of the Hilton hotel chain. Paris Hilton is a much debated person, mainly because people question her right to be a celebrity.

Paris Hilton was born in 1981, and was not heard of until the early 2000’s. Besides being a model, she did not show much talent in anything but being a prominent figure of New York parties. She first became famous for her sex video on the internet, which was later officially released on DVD by his boyfriend, Rick Salomon, who is also featured on the tape. After this, Paris gained a more favorable place in celebrity top lists of American magazines, and was also announced “sexy.”

Paris Hilton has been featured in a number of commercials and movies. She plans to debut as a singer in 2006, and also has plans for releasing clothes featuring her trademarked quote, “That’s hot!” On the other hand, Paris Hilton has been subject to various scandals, including the aforementioned sex tape, or her hacked mobile phone. The number of scandals is only exceeded by that of parodies related to her, showing that her acceptance as “celebrity” is somewhat questioned.

Today, Paris Hilton is still a controversial person, and many people debate his right to fame. Apparently, “celebrity” is not a title given by Forbes Magazine; people need much more to accept someone as an idol. While Paris Hilton already stated that she aims to be a role model, most of the public openly rejects her, pointing out that role models should have values beyond being rich.
